Access to the Shepherds Rest from the M62 motorway
is from J21 Shaw/Milnrow exit and is only a 20 minute drive. The
famous tourist spot of Hebden Bridge is only 4 miles and 10 minutes
drive away and then only 5 miles beyond you are into Brontë Country.

Directions
from Rochdale Road (A6033)
When entering the Walsden area of Todmorden look out for road
signs directing you to Lumbutts/Mankinholes and the Youth Hostel.
This is a right turn up Hollins Road (1½ miles before town
centre) at Walsden post office and library opposite Inchfield
Road. Continue along Hollins Road and follow signs to Lumbutts/Mankinholes
and the Youth Hostel which will direct you to the right up the
hill along Lumbutts Road. The Shepherd's Rest Inn is unmissably
at the top of the hill on the left.
Directions from Halifax Road (A646)
As you come in to the built-up area of Todmorden you need to turn
left along Woodhouse Road. This junction is opposite the Rose
and Crown pub on the right - watch out for the sign to the Youth
Hostel. Follow this road up the hill until you come to a T-junction
immediately after leaving the steep wooded valley. Turn right
at this junction. Proceed along this road up the hill until the
Shepherd's Rest Inn is unmissably encountered at the top of the
hill on the right.
Directions from Burnley (A646) and Bacup (A681)
Follow signs to Rochdale and proceed to Hollins Road junction
at Walsden post office/library then follow the Rochdale Road instructions
above.
